Ladyfolk Studio Watercolor and Wine workshop with Eberjey

I love sharing my inspiration and creativity!

So I was very excited when Eberjey asked me to host a Watercolor and Wine workshop for there “Be Inspired” series in Newport Beach. If you haven’t yet visited Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, where Eberjey is, then you are missing out! It is such a cute collection of boutiques, cafes and restaurants, all sitting along the beautiful Newport Beach Harbor. Some of my favorites there including Eberjey is the newly opened Malibu Farm, Zinque, the book store and Le Labo.

I love the inspiration behind Eberjey’s “Be Inspired” in-store events…

Eberjey is more than the soft cozies you never want to take off. We’re about embracing passions, exploring limitless creativity & sharing everyday moments with our customers & community. Whether you want to further an existing skill or learn something completely new, join us at one of our retail locations for a special event that promises to be enriching. From intimate shopping nights to workshops, panel discussions & more, we invite you to come BE INSPIRED & enjoy our retail experience!

Ladyfolk Studio Watercolor and Wine workshop with Eberjey Newport Beach

During the evening of my “Be Inspired” workshop we talked about letting go and using intuition to guide us to create something uniquely beautiful with watercolor. I always remind my workshop guests, art is not about creating the exact same thing as someone else. Watercolor painting does really require a sense of surrendering and improvising when things don’t go as planned, especially for beginners. All the ladies really displayed individuality in color preferences and brush techniques that we went over and I think all the watercolor paintings came out so pretty!

Rosé wine was definitely the variety of choice for the end-of-summer night but white and red were also available for tasting along with a perfect selection of snacks. All of this supported the relaxed and inspiring vibe for the evening.

It was a lovely group of women who spent the evening with me at Eberjey relaxing and getting inspired painting palm leafs, sipping wine and shopping in the beautiful store. If you aren’t familiar with the brand Eberjey, let me tell you they are known for there super soft must-have pajamas. They also have a variety of swimwear, loungewear, and the cutest little girl collection.

THANK YOU to everyone who came to the Watercolor and Wine workshop, I am hoping to do more there in the future but in the meantime subscribe to my email newsletter to be notified of the next event!

West Elm Painting Succulents Workshop Recap

EventsKimberly HeimbachComment

Who doesn't LOVE West Elm?!!! Seriously, I would buy the whole store if it wouldn't make me bankrupt.

Their vibe is modern chic but warm and inviting. Think shag rugs, tons of green plants, sleek furniture and rustic touches. When I arrived they had just received a fresh shipment of air plants and succulents. I picked my favorites and put them on display along with my watercolor mood board you see above. The workshop area hosted us with their comfy dining chairs and large wooden table. The store ended up being such a great venue to host my succulent painting watercolor workshop at. Scroll down to see more of the work in progress and final succulent watercolor paintings everyone created!

p.s. just a couple spots left for the next workshop, details here!

Watercolor Pineapple turned Tote bag: Paint, Sip and Print with Ladyfolk Studio!

Events, Watercolor and WineKimberly HeimbachComment

I cannot tell you how excited I am for my next workshop: Paint, Sip and Print, Watercolor Pineapple turned Tote bag!

Have you heard of a direct to garment printer? Commonly referred to as a DTG? It's tote-tally awesome!

Well let me explain what this has to do with the next workshop...

You see, we will be using this bad ass DTG at the Soul Project to print your original watercolor pineapple painting directing onto a canvas tote. How amazing does that sound?! You will get your very own tote bag, with your art on it to take home. Stash your new travel watercolor set and towel in it so you can hit the beach in Laguna to show it off, because everyone loves pineapples!

I will begin the by teaching you all the basics of watercolor painting, including wash techniques, the process for painting, making a composition, dry brushing, and color mixing. After that, I will walk you through a step by step process for making the perfect pineapple painting. You will actually get two chances at this, so you can pick which one you want to print on your bag!

Once you are happy with your painting and it is good and dry, I will be scanning them and printing them on the bags while you get to enjoy yourself sipping wine, chatting with new friends and taking a look in the shop. You can see photos from a past watercolor workshop at The Soul Project here.

The Soul Project is offering a special discount of 15% off this evening for workshop attendees. You are sure to find a new dress for yourself or a gift for someone else. They literally have something for everyone, even mermaids! Not to mention the perfect beach attire clothing for kids, men, and women.
