Watercolor Pineapple turned Tote bag: Paint, Sip and Print with Ladyfolk Studio!

Events, Watercolor and WineKimberly HeimbachComment

I cannot tell you how excited I am for my next workshop: Paint, Sip and Print, Watercolor Pineapple turned Tote bag!

Have you heard of a direct to garment printer? Commonly referred to as a DTG? It's tote-tally awesome!

Well let me explain what this has to do with the next workshop...

You see, we will be using this bad ass DTG at the Soul Project to print your original watercolor pineapple painting directing onto a canvas tote. How amazing does that sound?! You will get your very own tote bag, with your art on it to take home. Stash your new travel watercolor set and towel in it so you can hit the beach in Laguna to show it off, because everyone loves pineapples!

I will begin the by teaching you all the basics of watercolor painting, including wash techniques, the process for painting, making a composition, dry brushing, and color mixing. After that, I will walk you through a step by step process for making the perfect pineapple painting. You will actually get two chances at this, so you can pick which one you want to print on your bag!

Once you are happy with your painting and it is good and dry, I will be scanning them and printing them on the bags while you get to enjoy yourself sipping wine, chatting with new friends and taking a look in the shop. You can see photos from a past watercolor workshop at The Soul Project here.

The Soul Project is offering a special discount of 15% off this evening for workshop attendees. You are sure to find a new dress for yourself or a gift for someone else. They literally have something for everyone, even mermaids! Not to mention the perfect beach attire clothing for kids, men, and women.

A Roses and Rosé Watercolor Workshop, Girls Night In with Sivan Ayla!

Watercolor Workshops, Watercolor and WineKimberly HeimbachComment
" I absolutely loved my personalized watercolor workshop with Kim! She had such fun suggestions and ideas that spoke to me and were extremely Instagramable. I look forward to my next workshop with LadyFolk Studio! " -SIvan Ayla

Last Friday night (cue Katy Perry song)...We sipped Rosé and painted pretty roses with Sivan Ayla and friends!

Thank you to blogger Sivan Ayla for having me over for girls night in at her picture perfect abode in Los Angeles. Sivan had the Rosé Miraval chilled and ready to go when I arrived. Also setup was a beautiful spread of food dubbed "girl food" including my personal fave with a glass of wine, a charcuterie and cheese plate.

I setup the workshop on Sivan's dining room table for the 9 guests that would soon arrive.  The seating was easy to arrange with the custom watercolor place cards and wine cork holders I handmade for each of Sivan's guests. Creating a beautiful scene is part of my enjoyment of hosting workshops, it's all about the details! The watercolor name cards are just part of the special art Sivan's friends got to take home after the workshop that evening.

Each of my private watercolor workshops is completely custom to your needs. For Sivan, the Roses and Rosé was the perfect way to enjoy the abundance of pretty pink Miraval Rosé wine she had at home. It was girls night in, but you can also have me over to host a watercolor workshop for a baby shower, date night, dinner party, birthday, bridal shower, kids birthday or bachelorette party! The possibilities are endless with creativity, so please don't hesitate to reach out with your watercolor party idea.

I created the mood board you see above specifically for Sivan Ayla's workshop to show different ways of watercolor painting simple roses and how you can complete a beautiful painting in just two hours. We covered the basics of color mixing, wet into wet techniques and how to hold your brush to get the perfect petals and leafs. I think all the paintings turned out beautiful but you can scroll down and see for yourself! You can also purchase a print of the Rosé wine bottles in the shop.

"The workshop was the perfect way to spend a Friday night with girlfriends doing something creative together. I haven't used a paintbrush in years and forgot how much I love to paint, and how easy it is! I loved seeing everyone's interpretation of roses, made a little sillier with a glass of rosé" -Sophie Elkus

Look how cute all of Sivan and friends rose paintings came out! I always recommend taking a class photo at the end of my watercolor workshop to capture all those beautiful paintings and memories from the night! If you are interested in private watercolor workshop contact me here.

Bridal Shower Watercolor Roses and Peonies Welcome Sign by Ladyfolk Studio

Bridal Shower Watercolor Roses and Peonies Welcome Sign by Ladyfolk Studio

i had been daydreaming about all the details of my wedding before I was even engaged. So when the man of my dreams popped the question I couldn't wait to start bringing my, er...our vision to life! Now that my wedding has come and past (4 months ago as of yesterday!) I am happy to offer my custom wedding art services to others.

I loved personalizing my wedding art and would love to help you have the same experience! I completely hand-painted both my bridal shower and wedding welcome signs with watercolor and picked the perfect accessories to adorn them. For my bridal shower sign, I added coordinating flowers to match my artwork and overall color scheme. For my wedding, I chose to use elements you could find in my studio as decor, which included artist easels and vintage frames I have collected from flea markets over the years.

My watercolor wedding signs have become a keepsake piece of art, something I will treasure as a reminder of that day forever. -Kmberly Heimbach

If you are interested in making these handmade elements a part of your special day please contact me here for a quote or review average pricing and details in the shop if you are ready to place an order. I have a small selection of vintage frames for sale/rent and also artist easels available for rent.

I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about wedding art and vintage accessories please email kimberly@ladyfolkstudio.com
